SUNDAY, April 20, Fifth Sunday of Easter

“The one who has faith in me will do the works I do, and far greater than these,” Jesus tells his disciples. That’s quite an assignment for us as Christian stewards!

Coffee and Donuts will be sold by the Men’s Club in the cafeteria after all of the morning Masses.  Come to the cafeteria and have breakfast with your fellow parishioners.

Script Certificates will be available after all Masses today. Remember that with these certificates you can help the school.  All you have to do is get the certificates.  We have certificates for the major stores and can get

them for most stores.  Check this website for a complete listing: www.glscrip.com.  When you purchase the certificates a percentage of your purchase comes back to the school.

Bible Study will be held today in the Fr. Wright Room at 9:00 a.m. All are welcome. This group is now studying “Parables of the Kingdom.”  Some of the most memorable teachings of Jesus were delivered as parables.  The study will delve into the ways that Jesus invites listeners to experience the Kingdom of God in parables recorded by Mark and adapted by Matthew.  The Bible Study group meets each Sunday beginning with fellowship at 8:30 a.m.  Study time is from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the Fr. Wright Room.   All are welcome to join in an interesting and lively discussion of Scripture.

The Rosary will be prayed in the church at 7:00 p.m.

Catholics Returning Home – An invitation for Non-Practicing Catholics. Will be held in the Fr. Frey Room 7:30 p.m.

SUNDAY, April 27 - The Sixth Sunday of Easter

Catholic Home Missions – Next Sunday, our parish will be taking up a collection for the Catholic Home Missions appeal.  This Appeal supports missions here in the United States. This appeal offers Catholics across our country a wonderful opportunity to help fellow Catholics practice their faith in such rugged areas as Alaska, Appalachia, the Deep South, the Rocky Mountain States the Southwest, Puerto Rico, and island dioceses in the Pacific and Caribbean. Over 95 cents of every dollar donated to the appeal goes directly to the missions to keep church doors open, to support pastors in their priestly ministry, and to provide basic pastoral services like religious education for children.  Please give generously to assist fellow Catholics here in America.  It’s one practical way our parish community can be good stewards of God’s gifts and make a difference.

Dear Parishioners:

I had to drive to Bloomington for a meeting last week.  It was so wonderful to see the buds on the trees coming out.  There was the beginning of green where there had been just limbs.  It was so full of hope.

May this season and time of year bring hope to all of us.

Sincerely,

Fr. Larry Crawford

Pastor
