About Our Photo and Video Galleries
Our photo and video galleries are your one-stop visit to see for yourself all the great activities and programs we have here at St. Gabriel. A complete list of all of our slideshows of photos and our YouTube videos can be found on our index page. You can click on the preview photo or the title of the slideshow or video. Here are some tips on how to get the most out of our photo and video galleries.
Photo Slideshows
All of our slideshows have a set of controls at the top that look like this...
On the left the indicator tells you how many photos in the slideshow and which one you are viewing. You can click on any of the buttons to operate the slideshow as follows.
- First: Jump to the first image of the slideshow
- Prev: View to the previous image
- Play/Stop: Click this button to start and stop automatic play
- Next: View the next image
- Last: Jump to the final image of the slideshow
On the right is the speed control for the automatic playback. Click on the up arrow to go faster or down arrow to go slower.
At the bottom of the slideshow is a tiny thumbnail image of every image in the show. You can click on the thumbnail to directly jump to that image.
YouTube Videos
When you click on a video on our index page, you will be taken to a page with an embedded YouTube video. Simply click on the play button in the center of the image and the video will begin playing. If you're using dial up it naturally may take a very long time to load completely. Like all Internet videos you really need some sort of broadband connection to view them properly.
At the bottom of that page you will also find links to YouTube.com where the video is stored. If you click that link you will have lots of options available. Among the features you might like to use are...
- Share: Click that link to e-mail the video to friends or family.
- Add to Favorites: Just below the video you will see an option called "Add to Favorites". Click that link and you can add our video (or any other video) to your YouTube favorite list. Note that you must have a YouTube username and be logged into it at the time. You need not have any videos of your own to sign up as a YouTube user.
- Add to Playlists: YouTube lets you create playlists of your favorite videos. Click that link to add our videos to your list.
- Add a Comment: Below the video is a section where you can add your comments and read the comments of other YouTube users.
- URL & Embed: On the right side of the screen are boxes with a URL and embeddable code so that you can link our video to your blog, MySpace page, FaceBook page or other website. That way more people can find out what a great place St. Gabriel is.
St. Gabriel also has its own YouTube channel which is http://www.YouTube.com/stgabrielindy. There you can see a collection of all of our videos, add comments about our channel, and even subscribe to our channel. If you subscribe to the channel you will receive an e-mail notification anytime a new video is added. (Note: you will get at most one e-mail per week and you will get none at all if no new videos have been added).
Other videos
Some of our older videos were created before YouTube.com even existed. When you click on the links for these videos a pop up window will appear in the video will start to play automatically. Note you must have Adobe Flash player installed to view these videos.
Share Your Videos
Do you have any videos of events at St. Gabriel Church? We are looking for videos of baptisms, first communions, weddings, school performances, and our International Festival to add to our YouTube channel so that everyone can see how much fun it is to belong to St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church.
If it's already on YouTube then just send us a link and we will add it to our favorites.
If you have it on digital tape, 8mm analog, VHS, or DVD and would like us to post it for you we can do so and will return your original to you intact.
