Announcing
St. Gabriel's
International Festival
No Limit Texas Hold'em Poker Tournaments
June 17, 18 &
19, 2010
Note
date & time changes! Thur-Sat rather than our usual Fri-Sun.
Pardon our dust. Due to construction we will be
outdoors in a tent again subject to weather.
If you have
watched professional poker tournaments on televisionand have wondered
what it would be like to push all of your chips in and "flop the
nut-flush" or "hit the gutshot straight on the river" then this
is your chance! Once again St. Gabriel's International Festival
will be offering no limit poker tournaments each night of the festival.

Registration is limited to 80 players for each tournament, first
come first serve. Keep your entry ticket with you throughout
the tournament and turn it in when you are eliminated. The
number of players per table will be dependent upon available facilities.
The final table will have 9 players. Players should arrive 10 minutes
prior to the scheduled start time to draw for seating. Players arriving
late must forfeit blinds as if they had been present but sitting
out. We will make every attempt to complete the tournament
with only one player remaining however there is a time limit.
The tournament will end no later than 12 midnight. Proceeds benefit
St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish.

About
Our Rules
While many charity poker tournaments distribute
only a brief set of 10 or 20 rule statements and offer little information
about blind levels, payout structure, and specific procedures, we
at St. Gabriel want you to know what to expect and you put your
money down and join our charity event. For example our house cut
donation to our charity is among the smallest percentage is you
will find anywhere in this area. We also recognize there is a wide
variety of experience and our players. Some are novices and some
are nearly professional. We want to have specific rules and procedures
available that will help mitigate any disputes or misunderstandings.
Therefore in 2007 we completely revised our rules based upon the
Poker Tournament Directors Association rules and Roberts Rules of
Poker which are considered to be the standard documents in the field.
We have continued to revise and improve these rules.
We are distributing these rules in two documents:
- Basic tournament rules including St. Gabriel
specific rules. A printed version of this document will be given
to all participants at registration.
- A five page set of appendices which includes
detailed rules for those unfamiliar with the game as well as advanced
special circumstances rules.
Rather than distribute such a lengthy document
to everyone it is available here on the web site and printed copies
will be available upon request. This lengthier document includes
a detailed description of game play for novices, explanation of
the procedures for conducting a chip race, explanation of the "dead
button rule" and dealing with other unusual circumstances such
as missdeals, exposed cards, and other rarely encountered mistakes
and circumstances. We felt it important to put these more obscure
rules and procedures in writing to avoid possible disputes.
These rules have been updated June 2, 2010
We welcome your feedback on these revised rules
and procedures. Please send your comments by e-mail to tournament
director Chris Young at cy_borg5@cyborg5.com.
